Version 99 + Sequel Update!2025-07-10Surprise! 2+ years after version 98, Streets of Rogue has gotten a rather extensive “maintenance” update! So what's the occasion? Well, the matchmaking service that SOR was using to display lobbies and make connections has been sent to the dustbin, so in order for online multiplayer to continue functioning, I needed to switch matchmaking services. This in turn led to a revamp of the game’s multiplayer codebase, much of which had already been tested on SOR2.So basically, the game should be functioning almost exactly the same as it did before, but hopefully a bit better in the online multiplayer department. 5-Year Anniversary Community Event2024-07-12Hey there, rogues! Today marks the 5th Anniversary of the release of Streets of Rogue! Thank you for being with us all this time, people! Time really flies. The game entered Early Access on Steam back in 2017. And look where we are now! It's already been five years since this game's full release in 2019. So many memories were made, and so many are still to come, with the sequel on the horizon. Unfortunately, due to the Mayor's budget cuts, there will not be cake for the anniversary event. First off, I really, really appreciate how people were willing to take the time to write up and submit their ideas on our Discord server and these two topics: 1, 2. I read every single one of them, and I’d guesstimate it was in the range of 7,500 ideas. That’s way beyond what I expected, and it took FOREVER to get through these, but it was well worth it. You folks left over 1100 comments on Steam (Streets of Rogue 1 Announcement, Streets of Rogues 2 Announcement). On Discord... So the wild thing is, we already have over a thousand submissions from participants! It's unbelievable how active the community is.
