| Metal Garden Soundtrack now available on Steam | 2026-05-26 | Metal Garden Soundtrack now available on Steam Hi there! It has been quite some time since the release of Metal Garden, but I wanted to let you know that its soundtrack is now available for purchase on Steam! It is a brief soundtrack consisting of several atmospheric and combat tracks used in the game. I'm releasing it separately from the game now, in case you ever wanted to save the soundtrack from the game locally, or simply wanted to further support development of my future games. Thank you all again for the support you've shown me and the game throughout the past year. I hope to write to you many more times in the future |
| VERSION 2.7.0 - Italian Localization | 2026-05-13 | - Added Italian localization. - The game will now autosave every time player comes upon a new chapter trigger, and not only the first time. So if you come upon a new chapter, then go back into previous chapter to do some additional exploration, the game will now autosave again once you reach the next chapter. - Added Gamepad rumble. - Added additional borders to menu items when using a controller. - Fixed a bug where disabling the HUD in the options menu and then turning it back on had no effect and kept it disabled. - Made Xbox controller icons the default when playing on a PC instead of Dualshock ones, as they are more commonly used on PCs. |

Ukrainian localization created by Roman Dzividzinskyi. Russian localization created by Vadzim Pranko. German localization created by Vera Dorbath. - Fixed a bug where console would unintentionally close when using certain Function keys. - Fixed a bug where console would not reliably open on non-QWERTY keyboards. - Fixed a bug where turning the left stick backwards while sprinting on a controller would make the character sprint in place. - Fixed a bug where pressing reload while shooting let players spam weapon fire v |

| VERSION 2.5.1 | 2025-11-24 | Hotfix update - fixed a bug where pressing the 'Grenade' key multiple times in quick succession would deplete every single grenade in player's inventory, while actually only throwing a single one. |
| VERSION 2.5.0 - Brazilian Portuguese Localization | 2025-11-20 | - Added Brazilian Portuguese localization. Brazilian Portuguese localization created by Ingrid Antonello and Lucas Peixoto. - Different setting groups in the Options Menu can now be switched to with the controller using R1 and L1. - Added slight padding to the scroll in the Options Menu when using a controller (so that top and bottom options don't become invisible after scrolling anymore). - Fixed a bug where Xbox controller icons would not show up on the UI when game language was set to Korean. |
| VERSION 2.4.0 - Korean and Spanish Localizations | 2025-11-05 | - Added Korean and Spanish localizations. Korean localization created by Dayeon Lee. Spanish localization created by Innana Amador. - Fixed a bug where any action bound to the 'B' key wouldn't work. The issue was that one of development testing functions was still hard binded to the 'B' key, and it would eat up the input for all other actions binded to the same key. - Added several more triggers beneath game map, which return player to last safe place if they manage to fall through level geometry. - Slightly improved player collisions around some elevators. |

| VERSION 2.1.2 | 2025-08-27 | VERSION 2.1.2 changes: - Another Hotfix update - some of the rotating geometry still wouldn't rotate properly after the last hotfix, so I replaced all of the rotating geometry in the game with new versions. - Fixed a bug where gamepad triggers couldn't be mapped to any input action. - Fixed a bug where the first enemy encounter of chapter 4 (enemies gathered in the valley between the rotating arrays) wouldn't spawn sometimes. |
| VERSION 2.1.1 | 2025-08-27 | VERSION 2.1.1 changes:Hotfix update - playing the game at more than 144 FPS seemed to break some pieces of rotating geometry (such as the massive drills players have to traverse in chapter 3), by suddenly and randomly changing the axis they rotate around. This essentially made it impossible to progress through the game at above than 144 FPS. Fixed by replacing old rotation code with a new custom script for rotating geometry, so the game should be playable at high framerates now. |

More localizations to bigger languages coming in future updates. - Max Framerate Limit Lock has been increased from 144 FPS to 1000 FPS (WARNING: very high framerates may introduce bugs I haven't found yet). - Fixed a glitch where players could accidentally load into chapter 4 early by jumping on top of lockers at the end of the big puzzle section in chapter 3. This glitch got added when I added additional triggers for loading chapter 4 a few updates ago. Since it doesn't appear this glitch can be used for speedrunning exploits, I've elected to patch it out. - Various |
| VERSION 2.0.1 | 2025-08-03 | VERSION 2.0.1 changes: - Enemy collisions used for checking damage have been replaced with physics meshes. | VERSION 1.1.5 | 2025-05-05 | VERSION 1.1.5 changes: - Since the momentum from giant rotating drills in chapter 3 can be used to skip all the way across the canyon into the chapter 4 area, chapter 4 will now load correctly if players manage to do that jump. - Edited slightly the letter found inside the cave in chapter 4 for clarity. - Increased interaction distance of the eavesdrop segment under the large bridge in chapter 2. |
