| 2 years of Arctic Eggs | 2026-05-16 | Hey!You know what day it is. Exactly two years ago Arctic Eggs gave you a frying pan and said “satiate”. Damn, can’t believe it’s been this long! Arctic Eggs took just under half a year to make, and here we’re celebrating the passing of four times as much time. Was the game about the drive to become the best cook this polar cap of the Earth? Obsession with frying an egg on top of Mount Everest? Commentary on future food habits? To preserve the cold air of mystery, I won’t be answering that. Instead let’s see what you have to say about the game’s themes. To be completely open and honest, it freaks me out that it has already been two years. The |
| Fish And Cigarettes | 2026-03-26 | Hey! Thank you for still having Arctic Eggs deep in your hearts. But, we both know it wasn't the eggs that kept you coming back. It was the cigarettes. I just wanted to drop by and let you know that there was a big update to my next games playtest, and cigarettes have been added. I am not sure what their purpose is yet. Originally I was going to just drop that news here and leave, but figured it'd be wise to give some more context.About Fishing - Playtest 2.0 is live right nowIt's a mystery fishing game where you cast your line into calm water and occasionally pull up things that were never meant to be found. Think Shenmue meets Sega Bass Fis |
| New Vinyl Run | 2025-12-09 | Hey! Lots of people were upset that they missed out on the last run of the Vinyl's so the lovely people at Lost in Cult and Stumpy Frog Records pressed another batch! You can buy them at either store front! This shit is pretty expensive (honestly a lot pricier than our little game justifies) so it's again a pretty limited run, 100 egg face, 300 egg splatter. If you miss out on these don't worry I am sure there will be more in the future, they love making them and I love supporting my good friend Cameron Ginex, the incredible composer of this game. Thank you and I hope you enjoy! Again I appreciate your continued support on this game |
| A Game About Fishing | 2025-12-04 | Hi everyone, I just wanted to drop by with a small update: I’ve been working on a new game for a while now, and I am finally able to talk about it! It’s called About Fishing, and it’s a game about fishing. Give it a Wishlist if it looks like something you'd be interested in! There is also a playtest live right now that you can check out here as well: It’s a short slice (15-20 minutes), but enough to get a feel for what I’ve been up to. Thanks again for all the love for Arctic Eggs. Because of your support I have been given the freedom to continue to creating games about whatever I personally find interesting, which I couldn't be more thankful |

| 1 Year Anniversary | 2025-05-16 | It’s been exactly one year since Arctic Eggs the game has been thoroughly cooked and served on Steam. And every day of that year has been incredible. Filled with support and joy from watching so many people play. Not too much has been planned to mark the occasion, and I’ve already talked about the early history of Arctic Eggs’ development in previous posts, so If you’re curious— definitely those a read. But I am happy to announce that after a full year, I finally decided it was time to add apostrophes to the game! You win. To celebrate, if you haven’t yet stepped into the snow-plowing boots of the Poultry Peddler, the game’s currently on sale |
| Vinyl Restock | 2025-03-21 | Hey! Did not expect the Egg Vinyl to sell out so quickly haha Luckily we have a simpler frying pan themed variant still available at either https://stumpyfrog.com/ or https://www.lostincult.co.uk so if you are still itching to have a physical copy of the soundtrack there is still a chance! I'm not sure if the vinyls will restock again (though based on the reception so far, I really hope they do). But even if you aren’t able to get one, just know that we truly appreciate your continued support for this small game. Your support is what gave us this crazy opportunity to create something physical and real, and that means the world. |
| Arctic Eggs Vinyl | 2025-03-20 | I am beyond excited to announce that Arctic Eggs is getting a vinyl release, featuring the full soundtrack composed by the beautiful Cameron Ginex! Stumpy Frog Records & Lost In Cult Records have collaborated to put these tunes to wax with art by codex noirmatic. Limited to 300 copies and sold jointly through SFR & LIC, buy them at either store front! I don’t feel like it’s a stretch to say that Cameron's music isn’t just part of Arctic Eggs—it is Arctic Eggs. His soundtrack gave the game its identity, transforming what could have easily just been a bleak and oppressive experience into something far more complex, interesting, and even unexpec |
| 1 Year Anniversary (Kinda) | 2024-12-16 | It’s been a year since the initial Jam version of Arctic Eggs was released, and I just wanted to take a moment and reflect on it as the jam version is a really interesting piece of the games history, and obviously the thing that got the whole ball rolling. For those unfamiliar, a game jam is a contest where developers sign up to create a complete game within a set time frame. Arctic Eggs was made during The Big Mode Game Jam, a two-week-long event hosted by YouTuber Dunkey. Looking back, I’m still amazed by the support Arctic Eggs received during the jam. I vividly remember the week after the game dropped — all my free time was spent just wat |
| Nominate Arctic Eggs for "Best Game on Steam Deck"! | 2024-11-28 | Sunny side up, chefs! The year is almost over, huh? Well, thanks to your support, it was a pretty filling year! Honestly, I couldn’t imagine myself that a game about frying eggs in the Arctic would resonate with so many of you. I mean, it’s also an exercise in philosophy, but you do fry a bunch of eggs. And frying eggs was especially cool with Steam Deck’s gyro controls! Maybe some of you can even do pan tricks IRL. And if you found this feature as entertaining as I did, while developing it — consider nominating Arctic Eggs for “Best on Steam Deck Award”. Oh, yeah, you should probably nominate other “niche indie horrors with weird story\gamep |

| Testing the Recipe | 2024-10-28 | Greetings, Chefs! Today I have a story about Arctic Eggs’ conception. In this devlog we’re going to talk about its inspirations and show how the game and its vision changed during the beginning of its development. Without further ado, let’s start with the center element of the game and your most trusty companion – the pan! This is its very first version, from a game called “Fast Food For Antarctica” that was never finished, but gave the initial idea – cooking. It was set in a fast food kitchen and supposed to feature tons of cooking activities, but frying was so fun, I decided to make it the core of the game. https://i.imgur.com/MAU126f.png I |

| Chinese Localization, Random Mode, and more | 2024-06-01 | Arctic Eggs is now in Chinese thanks to user RamenLava! Also fellow gamedev KowloonsCurse on twitter finished up the Dutch Translation and now I just need to be implement it. Also currently the Polish translation is being worked on by my Polish girlfriend. That is all currently in the works at the moment, so let me know of any others you want next. Here is a list of small fixes/additions in this latest update: Random mode has been added into sandbox. You can set your desired difficulty and just enjoy cooking indefinitely. I enjoy a difficulty of 5 or 6, this can create some very weird combination while still feeling fair. I spent a good while |
| Sandbox Mode! | 2024-05-21 | A few of you seemingly yearn for more punishment so I have quickly thrown together a Sandbox mode which allows you to put together your own food combinations and try to cook them. Accessible through the main menu after you have 100% the game! It is very rough at the moment and very shallowly tested. Some of these ingredients were never meant to interact with each other, so break it and let me know what I need to fix. It lacks a few features I would like to add in the future such as an infinite challenge mode with difficulty based randomly generated dishes, the ability to change the BG, and achievement's for some really challenging configurati |
| Beta Branch | 2024-05-19 | A few of you asked for the ability to switch the game back to a version before all the difficulty patches, so now in the beta branch you have access to version 1 of the game! Also if you ever want to try out the first ever version of the game you can find it here. It began as an entry for the BIGMODE Game Jam and for me at least it is still pretty interesting looking back on it and seeing how much changed and how much surprisingly didn't. I also tried to fix a few Mac related issues but it is hard for me to test it out, so those of you with Mac give it a try and get back to me. |
